Goodbye Summer 2016 (featuring DJ Gabs Chang and Bushwick at Golden Hour)

One of my favorite aspects of Summer in the city are rooftops. Rooftop parties, rooftop sunbathing (with SPF of course), and in this case rooftop photoshoots. Earlier this month, my good friend (and stellar DJ!) Gabs Chang asked me to help her out with some new head shots. I was a photography major in college and love having the opportunity to flex my out-of-shape picture making muscle. What started as a request for a few head shots morphed into a Bushwick rooftop golden hour photo session.
Here’s hoping 2016 blesses us with an Indian Summer. Late August is when I start to regret not gorging myself on fresh peaches and not going to the beach enough. But I suppose all good things must come to an end… And usually Labor Day marks that end.
But before I get too bummed out I must remind myself that between Summer’s long balmy days and Winter’s dark slushy hellscape lies my very favorite season- Autumn!
Let’s all try not to think too hard about Winter… we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. For now we can savor the last few weeks of warm weather and slowly begin looking ahead to what Fall has to offer. I, for one, am looking forward to wearing fun tights, apple picking in upstate New York, and pumpkin flavored everything! Also, estate sale hopping is a lot more fun when it's not a million degrees outside.
If I do find myself feeling chilly and pining for the sensation of sun on my skin I plan on referring back to these rooftop photos as a reminder of the possibilities and magic found in a warm Summer day, in a beautiful setting, with inspiring friends :)
